Our Voting History: Boardroom

About Us:

Argonaut is a team of highly motivated crypto enthusiasts eager to participate in governance and make meaningful improvements where we see opportunities. Our team is diverse, with expertise on DeFi analysis, smart contract development, and research.

We chose the name Argonaut to symbolize our commitment to governance across various DAOs. Like Jason’s mythological crew, we bring together a range of skills and a pioneering spirit, dedicated to exploring new challenges and leading with innovation in decentralized governance.

Main Focus:

Our focus areas are security, fairness, and innovation.

Conflicts of Interest:

As a young team, we are currently active only in Arbitrum governance as delegates, but we plan to expand our involvement in other DAOs as we grow. We are committed to maintaining transparency in our decisions, with no hidden agendas.

  • Proposal: Deploy Uniswap v3 on X Layer
  • Voting type & platform: Onchain - Tally
  • Vote: For
  • Reasoning: We believe deploying Uniswap on X Layer is beneficial; however, we do not support Uniswap incentives at this stage of the network. Since the proposal has been modified to reflect this feedback, we are in support of it.

  • Proposal: [Temp Check] Uniswap Delegate Reward Initiative - Cycle 2
  • Voting type & platform: Offchain - Snapshot
  • Vote: Yes
  • Reasoning: We support this initiative as it’s a great way to attract active delegates. In our opinion, the current number of spots is too low and should be increased to at least 25. We hope the program allows more participants in the third cycle.

  • Proposal: Uniswap Delegate Reward Initiative - Cycle 2
  • Voting type & platform: Onchain - Tally
  • Vote: For
  • Reasoning: Just like the voting on Snapshot, we maintain our support for this initiative, and in the third cycle, we will wait for modifications that allow a greater number of delegates to join the program.

  • Proposal: Proposal to active 2, 3, 4 bps fee-tiers on Base
  • Voting type & platform: Onchain - Tally
  • Vote: For
  • Reasoning: We’ll be consistent with our vote in the Temperature Check. We believe this experiment is worthwhile and support adding more fee tiers on Base. For this reason, we support this proposal.
  • Proposal: [Temp Check] - Ethereum Foundation Attackathon Sponsorship
  • Voting type & platform: Offchain - Snapshot
  • Vote: Abstain
  • Reasoning: After careful consideration of this proposal, we have decided to abstain from voting. While we recognize that such proposals can add value to the ecosystem, we do not believe that Uniswap will capture the majority of this value. Given that our vote reflects the interests of Uniswap, we prefer not to support the proposed options.
  • Proposal: Uniswap Delegate Race Tiebreaker
  • Voting type & platform: Offchain - Snapshot
  • Vote: Both
  • Reasoning: As the approved tie-breaker method resulted in a tie, we will support the “Both” option. We believe that using an unapproved tie-breaker method would be unfair, and the most equitable solution is to include both delegates in the program. Thank you to the organizers for considering our concerns!
  • Proposal: Approved Budgets Rebalancing
  • Voting type & platform: Offchain - Snapshot
  • Vote: Approved Rebalance
  • Reasoning: We support this proposal. Since the budget was approved in USD, balancing it makes sense. However, it would also make sense to account for price fluctuations in the future and have a plan in place to mitigate volatility.
  • Proposal: UAC Renewal S3
  • Voting type & platform: Offchain - Snapshot
  • Vote: Renew UAC
  • Reasoning: We support the renewal of the UAC for Season 3, including the addition of the new member and the associated budget, as all of them are reasonable.
  • Proposal: Forse Analytics for Uniswap Revitalization and Growth Program
  • Voting type & platform: Onchain - Tally
  • Vote: For
  • Reasoning: In line with what we voted on in Snapshot, we support this tally proposal, as data and analytics are essential for making better decisions. However, we share the concerns raised by @SEEDGov . We strongly believe that poll results should be given more weight, as this is a DAO and should be governed by its voters, not by the entity who submitted the proposal…

  • Proposal: Uniswap Accountability Committee S3 Elections
  • Voting type & platform: Offchain - Snapshot
  • Vote:
    • Alex Duckworth: 50%
    • Marian: 50%
  • Reasoning: This was a difficult vote, as many candidates were a strong fit for the role. We voted for two, as there were two new committee member positions. We selected Alex Duckworth and Marian in equal percentages. Marian was chosen due to SeedGov’s work defending the DAO’s votes in the Uniswap Delegate Race Tiebreaker poll and the Forse Analytics proposal. We believe committee members should be aligned with the decisions made by the DAO.
  • Proposal: [TEMP CHECK] - Onboarding Package for Lisk
  • Voting type & platform: Offchain - Snapshot
  • Vote: For
  • Reasoning: We voted in favor, but we’re not entirely convinced it’s worth spending incentives on this L2. We were leaning toward voting against it, but considering that Uniswap will be launching UniChain using the OP Stack, we think it might be worthwhile to incentivize other chains within the Superchain.
  • Proposal: Uniswap Growth Program Trial
  • Voting type & platform: Offchain - Snapshot
  • Vote: In Support
  • Reasoning: We voted in favor of this proposal, as we believe a dedicated growth team is important for the DAO’s growth and to capture grants that the DAO often misses. However, we’d like to see the results of this experiment, and we expect it to generate ROI and real growth for the DAO. The budget is in line with similar services funded by large DAOs in the market.
  • Proposal: [Updated] Forse Analytics for Uniswap Revitalization and Growth Program
  • Voting type & platform: Onchain - Tally
  • Vote: For
  • Reasoning: We voted in favor of this proposal because it’s an improvement over the one we previously supported. We thank the author for listening to feedback and including the protocol chosen by the DAO. This sets a good precedent for the future. Congratulations to everyone who raised this issue!
  • Proposal: Uniswap Growth Program Trial
  • Voting type & platform: Onchain - Tally
  • Vote: For
  • Reasoning: In line with our Snapshot vote, we will support this Tally proposal, as we believe this addition could benefit the DAO and that its budget is reasonable.
  • Proposal: [TEMP CHECK] - Tally Uniswap Proposal
  • Voting type & platform: Offchain - Snapshot
  • Vote: For
  • Reasoning: Tally has been a key tool for Uniswap governance. The grant amount is reasonable given the value the platform generates and the promised new features. After this payment, we would expect the Tally team to have an engineer on call in case Uniswap encounters any issues with the platform.

While we understand the concerns raised by @pepo and @SEEDGov, we believe this tool is essential for governance security and is therefore worth the investment. We would also like Tally to clarify their roadmap and consider potential feedback from the DAO, as well as include features that the DAO might suggest in future updates.
