Thanks! scroll noticed me complaining and reached out as well, chatting with them tomorrow.
Community Governance Process Changes
We voted YES: We are a huge fan of the new updates to the Temperature Check and Consensus Check logistics. We recently concluded a governance deep dive research piece for the UF and this will be one of the main things many people said they wanted to improve!
https://gov.uniswap.org/t/a-deep-dive-of-uniswaps-governance/19792
Just wanted to highlight here our recent research we did this semester regarding Uniswapâs governance!
Deploy Uniswap V3 to Boba Network
We voted YES: Voting yes our general opinions regarding v3 being made available to as many good chains as possible holds here. We worked with the team to help them submit this proposal through the formal governance process and thank them for all their help.
UPDATED: Voting yes on the new proposal after a change in the legal recipient of the additional use grant
[RFC - Update] Deploy Uniswap v3 (1 / 0.3 / 0.05 / 0.01) on BNB Chain (Binance) Bridging Solution
We voted ABSTAIN: Our first Abstain vote in a while, reasoning in posts here:
https://gov.uniswap.org/t/rfc-update-deploy-uniswap-v3-1-0-3-0-05-0-01-on-bnb-chain-binance/19734/64?u=pennblockchain
https://gov.uniswap.org/t/rfc-update-deploy-uniswap-v3-1-0-3-0-05-0-01-on-bnb-chain-binance/19734/81?u=pennblockchain
Voted YES: To the on chain vote. Seeing a great level of turnout and debate, as w the community has chosen Wormhole, we believe it is appropriate to move forward with Wormhole on this proposal.
Enable 1bp Fee Tier for UniswapV3 on Arbitrum
We voted YES: Nice simple yes vote here as itâs logical and follows prior chains.
Deploy Uniswap V3 on Avalanche
We voted FOR: Voted for on both temperature check and on chain vote. Our reasoning for this was a bit debated internally, but at the end of the day, we believe Uniswap should 100% deploy onto Avalanche. We wish discussions surrounding the bridging provider were answered in the forums, however, completely understand the forum fatigue there and general community unwillingness to replicate the BNB discussion. As prior mentioned, we donât believe a precedence should/was set and are looking forward to a competitive bridging landscape in the future with respect to providers for Uniswap deployments.
Announcement to the Uniswap community from the governance team at FranklinDAO.
As part of an effort to strengthen our internal organization and operational security, weâre migrating our delegate profile (franklindao.eth) to a hard wallet at 0xCc878369b26127BD4bC1B0B465bC8bE9b92a4c62.
Our old address (0x070341aA5Ed571f0FB2c4a5641409B1A46b4961b) will remain active in protocol governance for the next month until June 15, 2023, so as to give everyone ample time to re-delegate their tokens.
We appreciate all of the holders that have entrusted us with their voting power and look forward to meaningfully improving the projects we all use on your behalf.
We are always accessible via the forums or Twitter @franklin_dao for any questions!
May Voting Summary
DeFi Education Fund Temp Check
We voted Abstain. Reasoning can be found below.
DeFi Education Fund Temp Check-Options
We voted For: 500k $UNI option.
DeFi Education Fund - On Chain Vote
We voted For: We initially voted Abstain on the Temp Check because of concerns over the 1M $UNI token donation amount. However, we recognize the achievements of DEF and the importance of legal advocacy and work in the coming years. While we would have preferred a smaller donation amount, we ultimately concluded that supporting DEFâs mission through this proposal is a worthwhile investment given that DEF uses its resources wisely and shares regular updates with the DAO.
[Temp Check] Onboard Uniswap to Redstone
We voted For: Deploy without incentives.
[Temp Check] Uniswap Delegate Reward - 3 Months-Cycle 1
We voted For. Reasoning can be found below.
Uniswap Delegate Reward - May 25th
We voted For: We believe that the proposed Uniswap Delegate Reward system is a great step toward increasing delegate engagement, not only in meeting objective metrics, but also encouraging more beneficial activity and exploration to improve the DAO. As other DAOs like Aave and Arbitrum have set up delegate reward programs, we believe itâs the right time to experiment and further strengthen delegate incentives. This will help take the burden off of delegates in terms of costs and help reward all the dedication top delegates have put into this DAO.
Uniswap Treasury Working Group (UTWG) Election
We voted for this proposal, the reasoning can be found below.
Mobilizing the Uniswap Treasury
We are interested in exploring the potential mobilization of the Uniswap treasury and happy to contribute to the research efforts.
[Temp Check] Uniswap Onboarding Package - Manta
We voted for this proposal. The reasoning can be found below under the bundle.
[Temp Check] Onboard Uniswap to Sei
We voted for this proposal. The reasoning can be found below under the bundle.
Itâs important to bootstrap new deployments with incentives to ensure their success.
Update Uni v3/v2 Deployment Process (March 2024)
We voted for this proposal. The reasoning can be found below.
Update Uni v3/v2 Deployment Process (March 2024)
We voted for this proposal to streamline and enhance the efficiency of Uniswapâs deployment governance process. By granting the Uniswap Accountability Committee multisig the authority to manage the v3-deployments.uniswap.eth and v2deployments.uniswap.eth subdomains, we reduce the need for repetitive onchain votes for each new deployment, speeding up the process while maintaining oversight. The DAO will still retain ultimate control over the primary domain, uniswap.eth, and can revoke these permissions through a governance vote, ensuring a balanced approach to accountability and flexibility. This change aligns with our goal to optimize operational efficiency while preserving robust governance standards.
June Voting Summary
Snapshot: Uniswap Arbitrum LTIPP Matching
We voted (1st) $500k, (2nd) $750k, (3rd) $1m, (4th) $250k, (5th) Do not fund. Reasoning can be found below.
Uniswap Arbitrum LTIPP Matching - June 23rd
We voted For: We believe that matching Arbitrum LTIPPâs funding demonstrates that Uniswap DAO is not aiming to extract value from Arbitrum but instead an alignment with Arbitrum. By only applying in LTIPP, the DAO has shown good intentions. We hope to see further collaboration and grants between the two DAOs when appropriate. We support the use of funds to incentivize LPs through Gauntletâs engine.
July Voting Summary
[Temp Check] Uniswap Onboarding Package - Gnosis Chain
We voted for 250k. Reasoning can be found below.
Onboarding Package for Gnosis Chain
We voted for $250k: We believe $250k reflects our confidence in Gnosisâ potential while ensuring that resources are committed prudently. Supporting new deployments is crucial to enable them to foster an ecosystem that can flourish with the necessary liquidity requirements backed by such onboarding packages. This level of support also signals to the community and potential partners that Uniswap is serious about expanding its ecosystem thoughtfully.
August Voting Summary
[TEMP CHECK] Uniswap Onboarding Package - OKX Chain
Missed Vote
[Temp Check] Forse Analytics for Uniswap Revitalization and Growth Program
We voted for Arbitrum & Base. Reasoning can be found below.
[Temp Check] Forse Analytics for Uniswap Revitalization and Growth Program
We have chose Arbitrum and Base due to their dominant positioning and large user presence - if incentives are going to be researched for optimization on any blockchains it should be done on these first.
Arbitrum, as a leading Layer 2 solution, offers a well-established ecosystem with a diverse and active user base, making it an ideal platform to study the scalability and cost-efficiency of Uniswapâs deployment. Its maturity and innovation in the Layer 2 space provide valuable insights into how Uniswap can optimize its operations in a high-performance environment. Base, backed by Coinbase, represents a promising new blockchain with the potential to tap into a broader and more diverse user demographic.
[TEMP CHECK]- Revised - Uniswap Onboarding Package - OKX Chain
We voted For. Reasoning can be found below.
[RFC] Deploy Uniswap v3 on X Layer
We voted in favor of the revised onboarding package.
[Temp Check] Uniswap Delegate Reward Initiative - Cycle 2
We voted For. Reasoning can be found below.
[RFC] Uniswap Delegate Reward Initiative - Cycle 2
We voted in favor of the first cycle of the Uniswap Delegate Reward initiative and are happy to see the second cycle enacted. Voting in favor directly supports incentivizing active participation and governance within the Uniswap DAO. By providing rewards to dedicated delegates who actively contribute to discussions, voting, and governance decisions, the initiative enhances the overall health and functionality of the DAO and its members. This proposal encourages greater engagement, properly recognizes those who contribute, and ultimately strengthens the DAO.
[REDO: Temp Check] Activate 2, 3, 4 bps fee tiers on Uniswap v3 on Base
We voted for. Reasoning can be found below.
[RFC] Proposal to active 2, 3, 4 bps fee-tiers on Base
Voting in favor of the proposal to activate the 2, 3, and 4 bps fee tiers on the Base network in Uniswap is a proactive step to gaining market share on base and increasing Uniswapâs competitive edge.
[Temp Check] Uniswap Onboarding Package - Gnosis Chain
We voted for this proposal. Reasoning can be found below.
Onboarding Package for Gnosis Chain
We voted for this proposal.
Voting in favor of the proposal to provide Gnosis with their onboarding package is a necessary move to continue the bootstrapping of Uniswap deployments - in this case Gnosis.
September Voting Summary
Uniswap Delegate Reward Initiative - Cycle 2
Vote: For
Description: We appreciate being a part of the Uniswap Delegate Reward Initiative and are in favor of its continuation. It does appear to be successfully attracting new contributors to the DAO while incentivizing the maintenance of a professional voting platform, which we think is a perfect recipe for onboarding new and active members to the DAO. We also believe the method used for selection is quite fair and holds everyone to a higher standard.
Proposal to active 2, 3, 4 bps fee-tiers on Base
Vote: We missed this vote.
Description: Although we missed this vote, we do recognize the position under which it was proposed. However we would have voted to abstain or voted against due to the marginal impact we would have expected in volume, as well as the potential for increased liquidity fragmentation and its extended effects. We would be in favor of further research specifically into all the options available for increasing Base market share as well as fallbacks that could work to rebalance priorities should the desired outcomes not be reached in a specified amount of time.
Uniswap Accountability S3 Renewal and Rebalance
Vote: For
Description: We appreciate the work done by the Uniswap Accountability Committee in previous seasons and we look forward to the continuation of their services. We will also have a member submitting a pitch to join the committee.
[Temp Check] - Ethereum Foundation Attackathon Sponsorship
Vote: Do not sponsor.
Description: We opposed the proposal due to concerns about the high cost and limited direct impact on Uniswapâs core objectives. These funds could be better allocated to initiatives more directly tied to Uniswapâs development.
UAC Renewal S3
Vote: Renew UAC
Description: We appreciate the work done by the Uniswap Accountability Committee in previous seasons and we look forward to the continuation of their services. We will also have a member submitting a pitch to join the committee.
Approved Budgets Rebalancing
Vote: Approve Rebalance
Description: We recognized the need to rebalance the currently approved budgets due to the negative price action of the UNI token over the past months.
Uniswap Delegate Race Tiebreaker
Vote: Both
Description: We voted to include both Tane and Argonaut into the second season of Delegate Rewards Initiative because they both met the requirements to be rewarded under the points scheme.
October Voting Summary
Uniswap Accountability Committee S3 Elections
Vote: 50% Doo, 50% Alex Duckworth
Description: We were excited to see so many applicants for such an important role in the DAO, and after the first two seasons success, our very own Alex Duckworth applied. We decided to use 50% of our voting power for Alex and the other half with Doo from stable lab, given his experience in DeFi and high fidelity in the past.
[TEMP CHECK] - Onboarding Package for Lisk
Vote: Aganist
Description: We voted against this proposal because the majority of the chainâs TVL is composed of the native token. We would like to see a more mature ecosystem before deploying Uniswap.
Uniswap Growth Program Trial - Snapshot
Uniswap Growth Program Trial - Tally
Vote: In Support
Description: We were generally in favor of this proposal from the beginning, seeing the opportunitiy available for Uniswap to have coordinated efforts marketing the DAOs activities, particularly for new deployments and incentives. It was great working with the alpha growth team to get to the final stage of this proposal.
[TEMP CHECK] - Tally Uniswap Proposal
Voted: For
Description: Weâve been extremely satisfied with Tallyâs service to the DAO over the past years. Weâre excited to see them continue to innovate on DAO tooling and enabling an easy environment to onboard more governance participants.
[Updated] Forse Analytics for Uniswap Revitalization and Growth Program
Voted: For
Description: We voted in favor of this proposal because we believe Forseâs data insights will be invaluable for evaluating and refining the Uniswap Revitalization and Growth Program. With a reduced budget and expanded scope, the proposal thoughtfully addresses DAO feedback and ensures accountability by aligning budget releases with completion milestones. Weâre excited to see how this analysis will help us understand which user groups and incentive structures drive real growth and user stickiness.
