Uniswap-Arbitrum Delegate Program (UADP) Communication Thread

January 2025 Voting Updates

Activate Arbitrum BoLD + Infura Nova Validator Whitelist

Vote: For
Type: Onchain

In correspondence with our Snapshot vote, we have voted in favor of this proposal. There is an obvious benefit in terms of greater decentralization through permissionless validation, significantly enhancing security against delay attacks. To attain the next L2 stage, this is a must. As for Infura, adding them to the set should result in more network robustness and reliability—therefore, we are pro this move. They’re a veteran in this space, providing key infrastructure to most all active blockchains.

Stable Treasury Endowment Program 2.0

Vote: For
Type: Snapshot

We had two initial concerns with this proposal: obscurity regarding its purview and the soundness regarding investing in more t-bills at this time. After mulling over the active discussions, we don’t believe that this program should be handed off to the newly-established TMC/GM. STEP operates well on its own and should not be thrust onto or cannibalized by the DAO establishing new entities. The progress that the STEP members have made during phase 1 has been strong, demonstrating a reliable future for Arbitrum to continue expanding on and sustaining its RWA allocations. Apart from operations, we had a couple of concerns around the opportunity cost associated with allocating more capital to t-bills. I think we approached this slightly incorrectly. The opportunity cost is not investing in alternative crypto-native assets or yield products—it’s more so doing nothing, and that, in our opinion, is less attractive than diversifying out of ARB. Apart from return risk, there aren’t a terribly large number of risks that relate to US treasuries. They will simply moderate the degree of volatility by acting as strong stores of value. We therefore voted in favor of this proposal.

The Watchdog: Arbitrum DAO’s Grant Misuse Bounty Program

Vote: For
Type: Snapshot

We are a fan of this bounty system for misuse and we think it should result in a lot more fair and proper use of funds from the DAO. We’re curious to see how this plays out and if there are going to be a large influx of reports, especially at the start. Hopefully spam won’t be an issue with anonymity.

Proposal for Piloting Enhancements and Strengthening the Sustainability of ArbitrumHub in the Year Ahead

Vote: For without retroactive
Type: Snapshot

Although we have some hesitation around the monthly cost of this program, the endeavor is commendable, in particular since the site has already been built. Retroactive funding is tricky, and since the monthly expense is teetering towards the high-end, we don’t think it is justified. That being said, multiple parts of the website could use work. It’s understandable that they’re incomplete—but based on the headers and overall structure, we believe that the organization will be quite helpful for DAO insiders and external parties once populated with data. We understand that such an effort can be placed under an alternative program, like the OpCo. However, since the ArbHub team has already put the dominos in place here, we believe it’s justified for them to carry the mantle. We therefore voted For the proposal, excluding retro funding.

Arbitrum Strategic Objective Setting (SOS) – Defining the DAO’s Interim Goals

Vote: For
Type: Snapshot

A unified front is imperative for DAOs like Arbitrum, where a ton of simultaneous initiatives and incentives are wafting about. The OKR submission period, followed by the 21-day feedback space is a strong, organized way of consolidating various ideas and distilling them down to the most pertinent objectives. This exercise should also help clarify some of the muddied waters around the underlying sentiment behind what people actually think Arbitrum DAO should be focused on. There have been diverging efforts, from RWA to gaming, and Orbit to BOLD. Some of these initiatives are core to the advancement of Arbitrum from a technical and security standpoint like BOLD. These proposals have passed with flying colors. But areas like gaming will be interesting to see, if mentioned at all. An L2 like Arb can go in many directions, and defining the right paths in the short/medium term is vital. We therefore voted For this proposal.

December Delegate Incentive Program

The UADP received December delegate incentive from the Arbitrum DAO’s new Delegate Incentive Program this month.

This amount is based on a couple of criteria: snapshot participation, onchain participation, communicating rationale behind the votes, and productive forum conversation, based on the quality of the feedback provided on the forums.
