[RFC] Flow Application for Canonical Uniswap V3 Deployment

Proposal Summary

This proposal formally requests that Flow be recognized as a canonical chain within the Uniswap v3 deployment framework. The intent is to deploy an instance of Uniswap v3 on Flow as a standalone frontend + smart contracts, securing native liquidity, composability, and integration benefits. We believe Flow’s technical characteristics and ecosystem alignment make it a strong candidate to expand Uniswap’s reach and usability in consumer‑scale and NFT/gaming domains. Flow Swap is positioned as the default Uniswap experience on Flow, strategically crafted to stand out within the ecosystem.

Flow is a layer‑1 blockchain created by Dapper Labs, designed to support large-scale consumer applications, NFTs, gaming, and digital assets with a high degree of scalability, performance, and developer ergonomics.

Some key attributes and strengths of Flow include:

  • MEV resilience & predictability — Flow’s design offers resistance to common MEV attacks, promoting fairer markets and more predictable gas costs.

  • Scalable state & storage — Flow supports extensible state capacity to petabyte scales, which is valuable for protocols maintaining rich on‑chain metadata and heavy state.

By formally recognizing Flow as a canonical chain, Uniswap gains access to a high-throughput, low-cost environment that can bring new users — especially in NFT / gaming spaces — into DeFi. Flow’s consumer scale use cases can broaden Uniswap’s reach, diversify liquidity sources, and foster tighter integration with on-chain digital asset economies.

Flow DEX environment

Flow’s on-chain DEX landscape today includes Trado.one, KittyPunch, and Increment Finance. Trado.one targets spot and perps with a permissionless UX; KittyPunch is a consumer-oriented DEX; and Increment Finance provides an “all-in-one” DeFi suite (swaps, lending, liquid staking).
Flow Swap is positioned as the default Uniswap experience on Flow, strategically crafted to stand out within the ecosystem. By leveraging Uniswap’s broad adoption and trusted reputation across multiple blockchains, Flow Swap aims to consolidate high-quality liquidity under the canonical Uniswap umbrella. The deployment will also serve as a foundation for more institutional-grade products, including upcoming tokenized yield vaults and canonical assets, reinforcing Flow Swap’s role as a robust and forward-looking DeFi gateway on Flow.
