Proposal to Support TON Blockchain Integration on Uniswap

I would like to propose that Uniswap consider supporting the integration of the TON (The Open Network) blockchain into its platform. As many of you are aware, TON is a rapidly growing blockchain that was originally developed by the Telegram team and has since evolved into a highly scalable and efficient network with a vibrant ecosystem.

Why TON?

Expanding the Uniswap Ecosystem: By supporting TON, Uniswap could tap into a new and growing user base that is already active on the TON network. This could lead to increased liquidity, more diverse trading pairs, and greater overall utility for Uniswap. This could greatly benefit Uniswap users, especially as DeFi continues to grow in popularity and transaction volumes increase.

Community Synergy: The TON community is known for its strong developer base and active participation. By supporting TON, Uniswap could foster new collaborations and innovations within the DeFi space.

I would like to hear the your thoughts on this proposal.

Hi–does the TON blockchain support VMs other than the TON Virtual Machine? We’d need EVM compatibility to proceed. Are there instances of well-known Ethereum dapps that have launched on TON before?

Hi Aleksandra,

To our knowledge, the TON Blockchain does not allow for EVM compatibility since applications on their network are written in FunC for the TON virtual machine, so an integration would not be as simple as past proposals. Given this information, it might be best to return to this topic and create a proposal for an integration on TAC (TON’s application chain to release as a Polygon L2) later this year.
