Our Uniswap protocol lead @jason_of_cs, dives into our decision process below.
This proposal serves to expand the use of Uniswap v3, as well as support cross-chain ecosystems. First of all, the potential for fee revenue growth seems enticing, given the significant additional capacity that a user-base expansion to a non-Ethereum blockchain would bring about. Moreover, the pledged grant supports initiating possible cross-chain capability-enabling research which would significantly benefit the Uniswap community if implemented. Lastly, cross-chain governance is an interesting point –certainly essential for future-proofing the entire community– and would likely need further examination; the proposal supports the unification of cross-chain governance under a radically different mechanism than the current one, namely using Nomad message passing channels, which would merit some concern and careful supplementary consideration from experts before its final implementation and deployment.
